real:world AI for real:work.

Practical tips, prompts, and strategies to help you use AI with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Getting Productive

You know that feeling of dread when you know you're going to get it all done, but boy, it'll be a sprint to the finish?

It was that kind of week.

So how did I survive? With some crafty AI prompts. (Oh, and pre-cooked TJ's veggie dumplings - steam for 9 minutes for a quick and light lunch at the standing desk!)

Read on for some prompts that might be able to help YOU get through YOUR week and at the very end, I've added a very helpful tip you'll thank me for.

Productivity Prompts

"Please review my unread emails from last week and highlight the emails which require action items on my part."

"Please review the team chat from today and highlight any requests or posts by team members to which I did not reply."

"Please read this slide deck thoroughly and tell me when you are done. [Done}. Please now review this slide deck for any typos and spelling errors. Tell me what they are and on which page." (I do this 2-part prompt frequently, especially when I'm about to have a string of prompts about the document. It may be unnecessary as the AI tools get more powerful, but, I like to ensure the tool knows where to direct attention.)

"Please review this deck and add an agenda slide."

"Please review the transcription from the recorded meeting and tell me when you are done. [Done.] Using a friendly and professional tone, craft an email thanking attendees for their input in the meeting today. Summarize our discussion in bullet points. Be sure to add a section at the bottom with bulleted action items gleaned from the transcription."

"Please read the meeting transcription and let me know when you are done. [Done]. Please rank the amount of times each attendee contributed from most contributions to least contributions and include those who did not contribute at all."

"Can you please review this deck and craft a compelling advertisement for this event that is 150 words or less? Use a professional tone that does not contain emojis or em dashes. Before you create it, ask me up to 5 questions one at a time so that your advertisement is on point."

"Please review my unread emails from this week and highlight the emails which require action items on my part."

"Please review this email and make it more concise."

Write me to let me know how these worked. I reply to everyone so don't be shy. I hope you find these prompts helpful as you continue to incorporate AI into your daily productivity and please spread the word about the AI Business Strategy Lab by forwarding this to a friend or colleague.

Important note: While AI can highlight where some tasks can be streamlined, you know your work and workflow best, so it's important to check the AI response against your own reality.

That's where I come in as your AI Strategist and Coach to help you probe deeper, challenge assumptions, and ensure the analysis is both aspirational and grounded in reality.
