Gaining Clarity
Copy and paste the following prompt into your favorite AI tool:
I want you to act as a career strengths analyst. Your job is to assess my professional strengths based on my experiences, skills, and personality. First, ask me a series of 5 tailored questions one at a time to understand my background, work style, problem-solving approach, and areas where I feel the most confident. Then, analyze my responses to identify key strengths, hidden talents, and areas where I naturally excel. Please remember to ask me the questions one at a time.
I worked with ChatGPT 4o to create this exercise so that it prompts deep reflection, leading to insights that might not surface through traditional self-assessment. Here are a few reasons why it works:
- AI as an Objective Thought Partner:
Unlike self-reflection alone, AI can ask tailored, dynamic questions based on responses, pushing for deeper insights. It serves as a neutral, structured guide that helps you articulate your experiences in new ways.
- The One-Question-at-a-Time Method Encourages Deeper Thinking
By asking five carefully sequenced questions, one at a time, the process prevents surface-level answers and allows for layered, introspective responses. This approach mirrors my coaching techniques to foster self-awareness.
- AI-Generated Analysis Provides a Fresh Perspective
Because AI processes responses with pattern recognition and structured reasoning, it can identify strengths that people may dismiss or fail to articulate clearly. The external perspective provides validation and a new way of seeing your abilities.
